The centre of our worship is the sharing of bread and wine as a regular part of our life as a Christian community. Also known as Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper, the Eucharist is celebrated at the majority of services here at St. Philip’s including each service on Sunday as well as Wednesday and Thursday mornings. All baptized Christians may take communion and in our parish children are encouraged to participate in the Eucharist. Every two years we have a program called Life in the Eucharist which helps the children and their parents with this important step in the child’s Christian development. The liturgy for the Eucharist can be found in the Book of Alternative Services (Green), the Canadian Prayer Book or in a leaflet especially prepared for the main service on Sunday morning. Music and sermons enhance the longer services while there are brief addresses at the shorter ones. If you wish to know more about the Anglican Eucharist, please speak to one of the clergy on Sunday or call the church office.
