Please note that on April 23, Dunbar Seniors Cafe will be held in the Garden Room as our regular space has been booked for use by the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festivals. There will be no access through the church on these dates, so please use the other doors.* Dunbar Seniors Cafe returns to the Fireside Room on Tuesday, April 29.
*Anyone needing to enter through the side door of the church, using the ramp, please do so BEFORE 9:30 a.m. The side door will be locked after this time.
Dunbar Seniors Cafe
This informal group engages in lively conversations about subjects that anyone can bring up: sometimes amusing, sometimes serious, sometimes a joke or two. By mutual request, there are no activities or games, just warm friendship, comfort if needed, and frequent laughs. This active group also advocates for services for seniors in the Dunbar community. Anthony Kupferschmidt from the City of Vancouver attended recently for a discussion of the needs of seniors in the Dunbar area, from affordable houseing to assistance with electronic forms.
Coffee, tea or juice are prepared by the hostesses, Janet Brown, Sheryl Mackay and Judy Poliquin, and occasionally someone brings treats! The participants insist upon donating to the “toonie tin" at each meeting to provide for the beverages and any refreshments. Please drop by and join us between 10:00 a.m. and noon. All are welcome.
