Maundy Thursday Choral Eucharist

This service will be livestreamed, starting about ten minutes before the service begins.

Maundy Thursday receives its name from the Latin word mandatum, meaning "to command." Maundy Thursday Choral Eucharist (with foot-washing) commemorates Jesus' example of servant-leadership: washing his disciples' feet and commanding them to love one another.  This service features this same washing of feet and celebrates the institution of the Eucharist (Jesus having celebrated the first Eucharist in the Upper Room that same Thursday night almost 2000 years ago).  The service closes with a commemoration of Jesus suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane as the altar and other furnishings are stripped of their adornments in preparation for the Good Friday service.
