Maria just completed her Doctoral studies at McGill University with Isabelle Demeres. Maria is the co-founder of Sapphonix Collective and also the programming director of medieval ensemble COMTESSA that will be performing with Early Music Vancouver this summer.  She was awarded First-Place in RCCO Canadian National Organ Competition (2025) and her doctoral research is funded by the FRQ (Fonds de Recherche du Quebec).

Maria has worked in multiple churches in Quebec as organist and choir director. Maria is passionate about building community and making the organ more accessible to everyone. She is also passionate about studying and programming historically underrepresented composers.  Maria also performs internationally at venues like Salle Bourgie, Maison Symphonique, and the Orgelpark (Amsterdam) and in series such as Cal Performances (USA) and Bergen Orgelsommer (Norway).

We are so looking forward to welcoming Maria in October. Please keep her in your prayers as she makes this cross-country move!
