On Thursday Dec 18, St Philip's shared a joyful evening of carol singing with parishioners and neighbours who gathered to raise our voices together.

Michael Murray played an hour of carols, from tender Silent Night to ebullient Joy to the World. (scroll down to hear that!) From the front two pews, the choir led and swelled our efforts with male voices, high voices, solos, and a couple of soaring descants. Michael read the King Wenceslas scene from A Child's Christmas in Wales, and Rev Anne read John Terpstra's thoughtful Canadian poem The Little Towns of Bethlehem. (Poem)

We ended heartily with We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and repaired to the Fireside Room for hot chocolate and home made Christmas baking thanks to Diana Bragg, Joanne Vondette, and Catherine Bernard. A sweet ending in every way.
