Vestry is the term used in our Diocese to refer to the voting body of parishioners who gather for the Annual General Meeting of a parish. This voting body is made up of those who are baptized, 15 and older, a member of the parish and an accustomed worshipper (see below for the canonical definitions).
At a Vestry Meeting, we gather to receive the ministry of the last year, elect and appoint leaders for this next year, discuss finances and budgets and matters of parish life, giving thanks for the ministry we offer together at St. Philip’s. We also eat lunch. While there are voting restrictions, all ages are welcome at the meeting.
